I am Mrs Williams and I am delighted to welcome you to Year 7 at Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan. I am confident that you will enjoy your time at the school and that you can look forward to all of the experiences that high school has in store.

School keeps me very busy but I also enjoy gardening and walking my very excitable Golden Retriever Archie in the beautiful beaches and countryside that we are lucky to have so close by in North Wales.

Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan prides itself on offering an excellent educational experience for all of its learners. We will support you to make sure that you are settled, happy and able to achieve to the best of your ability. Our learners will always be our priority. Supporting learning and providing excellent pastoral care is important to us, which I hope reassures you. We are very excited to meet our new Year 7 learners and to care for you throughout your learning journey.

The team of staff who have been chosen to work with you are all skilled in supporting learners and will be happy to help you to make the change from Year 6 to Year 7.  I hope that you are looking forward to taking your next steps in your new school and that you will enjoy your time in Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan.

I’m Miss Vaughan-Edmunds and I am so happy to meet you! I know this is going to be a great year for all of us to grow and learn together.

In the Art room, we will be exploring the use of colour and experimenting with paint. We will also be researching and drawing inspiration from the local seaside. I am excited about exploring different ways of working with you all.

Before I became a full time teacher, I was a full time mural artist. I love to paint at home and also enjoy getting outside in the fresh air and walking my dog, Bailey.

We are going to have so many new learning opportunities this year, and I am looking forward to every minute of it!

Hello Year 7, my name is Mr. Hughes and I’m looking forward to welcoming you all to Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan in September.

I teach Mathematics, and this year we will be exploring number, algebra, statistics and geometry in a variety of fun and exciting ways. I have been a teacher at Emrys for 2 years, and I’m looking forward to meeting my first year 7 form class.

In my role as a form teacher I aim to make your transition to Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan as enjoyable and as positive as possible. There will be lots of opportunities for you to make new friends, and to participate in fun and engaging form room activities.

In my spare time I coach rugby at Clwb Rygbi Abergele, I enjoy watching as much sport as possible, and I enjoy walking in the mountains and exploring the beautiful beaches on the North Wales coast.

Croeso 7M!  My name is Mr Blackford and this is my 10^th year at Ysol Emrys ap Iwan teaching PE.

I am looking forward to meeting you and providing you with lots of opportunities to try new activities and make lots of new friends. As your form tutor I will endeavour to make your school experience positive and enjoyable.

One of my roles at school is looking after the whole school extra-curricular programme, this means we will be trying our best to provide you with lots of exciting clubs and trips outside of curriculum time, giving you as many new experiences as possible.

Coming from a sporting background and teaching PE, I will be encouraging you to take part in as many different sporting activities as possible, activities such as horse riding, football, rugby, rock climbing, netball, rounders and skiing, along with many others.

In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, mountain walking and watching lots of different sports such as football, cricket and tennis.

I look forward to seeing you all in September to start the next steps of your school life.

Hi all, my name is Mr Brown and I’m a Computing teacher and Year 7 form tutor at Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan.

I’m excited to be your form tutor next year and helping you become part of the Emrys family.

As a Computing teacher I will have the chance to meet most of the new year 7’s in our lessons where you will learn all about the digital world.

In my spare time I enjoy music, especially playing guitar, and I’m a big rugby fan. 

Hello, I am Miss Jones and I will be the form tutor for 7I in September.

I teach Drama and Performing Arts here at Emrys and I also run a Drama club after school that you will be able to attend from September.

Before I became a teacher I worked for Mickey Mouse on board the Disney Dream Cruise Liner, it is one of my two truths and a lie, so try to remember that one! In my spare time I enjoy walking up mountains and going to concerts.

Hello everyone, my name is Miss Thomas and I will be form tutor to 7W.

As well as my role as a form tutor, I am also head of Key Stage 3 for Welsh. There is so much that we will be able to enjoy together in Welsh lessons. The topics include favourite foods, hobbies, pets, TV programmes and more! You might even be interested in joining in with our annual visit to Glan-llyn in the summer.

Outside of school, I enjoy cooking, travelling and spending time with family.

‘Bore da pawb! Croeso i Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan. My name is Mr Bohana, and I love languages! I teach Welsh at Emrys, and I studied French and Spanish at university.

In my spare time, I enjoy exploring the mountains of Wales, and travelling to different countries to learn about their culture and to practice my foreign language skills. I also enjoy playing my guitar and Xbox (not at the same time).
