Winning Young Writers at Emrys

Learners in Year 9 and 10 have had their creative writing published after entering a national writing competition Mini Monologues – Word Weavers.

Each learner wrote from the point of view of someone who inspires or intrigues them. Many based their writing on the character Shelter from ‘Stone Cold’ by Robert Swindells after studying the text in their English lessons. The pupils were encouraged to develop their writing talent by reflecting upon their enjoyment of reading the novel.
