Maths roadshow visits Emrys
Last week, learners were playing games instead of having their regular maths lessons.
The day was part of a Maths Roadshow, where key stage 3 learners took part in a range of activities including Countdown, 21s and Tetris. The games were set out around the room, and learners were challenged to tackle them. The challenges taught them how to solve maths problems through thinking skills and reasoning skills. One learner said, ‘I’d really like the roadshow to come back – it was amazing!’ Another said, ‘It taught us how to solve maths problems in an enjoyable way.’
