Learners 'dare to achieve' at GCSE

Once again the learners at Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan have worked hard and produced a solid set of results.

The school is delighted with the individual performance of its learners and has had many delighted learners, parents and teachers this morning. 

Headteacher Lee Cummins said: “This is a fantastic set of results and is a huge success for everyone. I am particularly pleased that all of our learners have achieved five GCSE passes.  The results show the dedication of the learners, parents and staff and I am once again pleased that together we have ensured that all our learners have done themselves proud”

“I am delighted with the increasing success of our learners to achieve such good GCSE results. This is very good news for our learners and everyone associated with the school. Learners of all abilities have achieved the results they deserve through hard work and commitment.”

He added:  “I would like to thank the staff and parents for their hard work in ensuring learners are able to confidently move on to the next stage of their learning journey. They have all clearly risen to the challenge of ‘daring to achieve’ at Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan.”

Learners who achieved the top grades included: Patrick Davies achieved 5A*s and 7As; Melissa Berger gained 3A*, 3 As, 4 Bs and 2Cs; Sadie Wagstaff 2A*s, 7As and 1B; Jodie Jacklin 1A*, 5As and 3 Bs; Theadora McQuillan 2A*, 5As, 3Bs and 1C; Dylan Davies 4As, 5Bs and 1C; Samantha MacDonald 7As and 3 Bs; Jessica Liddle 1A*, 5As, 2Bs and 2 Cs; Yasmin Williams 1A*, 5As, 2Bs and 1C.

Tyler Joyce 2 A* attained 3 As and 5 Bs: “I’m very happy with my GCSE results. I will be studying maths at A level and have to make a final decision on my other subjects.”

Matthew Fox 3A*gained 5As and 2 Bs said: “I’m feeling really happy with my results. I’ve decided to study maths, further maths, computer science and physics at A level at Emrys.”

Staff were on hand at school to congratulate the learners on their achievenments. Many learners have decided to continue their studies at Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan and have signed up for various A level courses today.
